Expert forum on software testing at LogiMAT 2005
Testing of logistics software: significant reduction of commissioning times and increase of software quality
Within the framework of LogiMAT 2005, SimPlan AG, together with the trade fair management, will present a specialist forum on current developments and possibilities of simulation-supported software testing in logistics. Experts from science and industry will give their expert assessments and present their research results and practical experiences.
The possibilities of testing logistics software before real use with the help of simulation-based methods, discovering possible errors and developing optimization potentials will be examined from different perspectives in the two-hour event. Dirk Wortmann, CEO of SimPlan AG, will moderate the expert forum and combine the various presentations from science and practice based on his more than 15 years of experience in simulation projects to provide an overview of the current state of development.
“50% savings in commissioning time” was a recent success story from the use of simulation to test logistics software in the implementation of a distribution center. With this new technology, logistics software (e.g. LVS, MFR, SPS) can be intensively tested even before all mechanical components are completed. This is achieved by a coupling between the logistics software and the simulation. This saves time and costs.
