Why should I simulate an automated guided vehicle system (AGV)? Is an AGV simulation worthwhile?
Basically, the simulation serves to evaluate my planned system in order to ensure successful implementation and smooth operation. The aim is to recognise potential planning errors and bottlenecks at an early stage. In this way, high costs for correcting such errors during operation can be avoided.
When planning AGVs in particular, a simulation can quickly pay for itself. A simulation can amortise itself through the saving of individual vehicles. In the simulation model, the system can be optimised and thus designed for a minimum number of vehicles. This is essentially achieved by optimising the control strategy and the route network.
The model can also be used for virtual commissioning in order to test the real control system before the start of real commissioning. This significantly reduces the time required for commissioning.
The cost of the simulation depends on the complexity of the system. Please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with a non-binding quotation.
