Our series “SimPlan turns 30” / Part 4 – Founding of the SimPlan Regensburg branch office.
After the office in Braunschweig, the Regensburg branch followed in July 2002 with Stephan Stauber as head of the location – today together with Iris Zollfrank.
When the Regensburg branch was founded, the thematic focus was on carrying out simulation studies in the field of highly automated intralogistics systems. Relatively quickly, this was expanded to include virtual commissioning and the development of module libraries for logistics and emulation.
In the context of research projects, the foundation was also laid for several SimPlan products, which are now supported and continuously developed by a dedicated team of developers at the site. In addition to the SimAssist software – our assistance system for data analysis and simulation – the SimPlan value stream app SimVSM and our process mining tool SimPath are also part of the branch’s success story. The latest app SimQueue for the design of buffer sizes has just been launched and once again proves the innovative power of this location.
