LogiMAT trade fair novelty from SimPlan AG: SimAssist, an assistance system for the professional preparation of simulation projects
SimAssist, the latest software product from SimPlan, is a modular software for simulation users with assistance functions for the administration, analysis, visualization and documentation of simulation data. With SimAssist, a professional tool is available with which the resulting data from simulation projects can not only be managed independently of the simulation application, but also evaluated, optimized and finally transferred into project documentation.
SimAssist can be used with any simulation software and a variety of different data sources and thus represents a major workload reduction for all simulation users. Thus, SimAssist helps to amortize the investment in simulation faster and to make project handling more efficient and effective.

Due to the modular structure of SimAssist, the various modules can be freely selected according to the needs of the simulation user, building on a base module that contains basic functions – such as the management of data sources. Thematically related functions are grouped in the modules, which can be licensed and used independently of each other depending on requirements. For example, modules are available for convenient data checking, for visual evaluation in meaningful diagrams or for determining statistical key figures, as well as modules for project documentation – via which interfaces to Microsoft PowerPoint or Word, for example, can be used directly from the assistance system.
In this way, users are able to design assistance software that is precisely adapted to the respective task area as well as the individual working method, which only provides those functions that are actually needed and thus enables a focused and efficient evaluation of even complex and extremely extensive data. The already successfully introduced product SimView, widely used in logistics simulation, among others, will be integrated into SimAssist as an independent plug-in in the module 2view.
