SimPlan at LogiMAT 2020:
CAD and plant simulation grow closer together
The SimPlan Group will present “CAD Is The Model” (CITM) at LogiMAT 2020 in Stuttgart (Hall 8 Stand B06). With the help of this application, “aspects” for describing the behavior of a plant component, such as machines, robots or handling systems, can already be defined in the CAD system and transferred directly to the simulation software Emulate3D. This eliminates the time-consuming data entry process that was common in the past. In addition, Germany’s leading service provider and software distributor in the field of simulation and emulation will present the latest version of the value stream mapping app SIMVSM, which simplifies the creation of corresponding models and can now also be downloaded as an Android version from the Google Play Store.
Previously, CAD data was transferred to Emulate3D without any information for emulation. Also, when updating, the information describing the plant behavior was lost and had to be laboriously re-logged. With CITM, the CAD system transfers the data with each export. This speeds up the planning process and increases planning quality. Design engineers can thus work in their familiar CAD environment and record the necessary data for simulation or emulation. The technology is available for SOLIDWORKS and Autodesk Inventor, and soon for CREO Parametric.
SimPlan has equipped the new version of the SIMVSM app, the digital tool for mobile value stream mapping, with various new features, such as high-resolution vector graphics for the value stream symbols or simplified dragging and displaying of edges. These, as well as a complete revision of the “Help”, make it much easier for users to create their own value stream models.
A large number of application examples from various sectors and industries will also give visitors to the SimPlan stand an overview of the benefits and diverse application possibilities of simulation.
