SimVSM as a component of continuing education for KMU
As part of the EU Interreg project Upper Rhine 4.0, Offenburg University of Applied Sciences has acquired a SimVSM license package for 20 users. The task of the project is to develop further training modules for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The SimVSM app is to become a component of continuing education in the context of lean production. Companies are to be familiarized via the app with new, web-based solutions that offer new concepts and technologies in contrast to classic tools and thus raise the methodology of value stream mapping to a new level of quality.
Jürgen Köbler from the Faculty of Business Administration & Industrial Engineering is responsible for the project. He heads the Virtual Engineering laboratory and justifies the integration of the SimVSM app as follows: “SimVSM is a very good example of how web-based software can be applied today, in this case to use a novel approach of linking value stream mapping with simulation without having to acquire in-depth simulation knowledge and at the same time get a more accurate analysis result.”
