What makes us different?
SimPlan’s goal is to be efficient in simulation projects.
Our claim: to deliver the highest quality, to be technologically up to date and to enable the customer to find any solution he asks us for.
In 30 years of SimPlan, we have gained experience in over 500 projects and built up expertise in many industries and specialist areas. In addition to process-side expertise, we have also driven technological development. An important aspect of this:
We build standards.
This includes our building block kits that complement standard tools such as Plant Simulation or AnyLogic (e.g. logistics, automotive, shipbuilding).
Standards make projects faster, more efficient and increase quality, because in building the models we do not always have to start from scratch, but can fall back on existing developments.
As an aside, we should mention that we have been ISO and TISAX certified for some years now, so that SimPlan’s internal processes also meet the quality standards we set ourselves.
Dirk Wortmann explains one of the most important points to us – the qualification of our employees.
“A very important point that must not be ignored is the question of how, when new employees come on board, we actually get them to the desired level. We can’t just have employees with 5 years of competence and experience, but new ones come on board as well.
We have developed a mentor principle for new employees.
This means that every new employee receives training for 6 months with a mentor at his or her side. This mentor helps them to take on more and more responsibility in the projects. This means that it starts with small tasks in the project: approaching the customer, implementation, understanding the process, data preparation, etc., until the employee is finally able to manage the project completely by himself.
In addition, we require flexibility from our employees in terms of tools.
Every modeller should master at least two tools.
This is sometimes not easy, but I think it also makes the task more exciting for the staff.
In addition, within our projects we select the employees according to their competence in terms of sector and tool. For example, if I have a project in the furniture industry, I look for employees who have already gained experience in the furniture industry. Likewise, in a project where a customer wants to use a certain simulation tool, we try to select an employee who has a very good command of this tool.
And finally, we are now active in many locations. We have 8 offices in Germany, 2 in Austria and a sales office in China. Of course, this also plays a role in the selection of employees for the projects. That means we try to keep travel times short so that we get more efficiency into the project and the
